About the Association
AFEPI Ireland was founded in 1985 as a professional organization for publishing and editorial freelancers in Ireland. Its main aims are to
- advocate on behalf of, and protect the interests of, its members
- provide professional up-to-date advice and training
- foster high standards in editing, proofreading and indexing
- match authors, indie writers, publishers, businesses, public bodies and charitable organizations with suitable editorial freelancers.
The association has grown from fifteen members to approximately 100 members today; currently there are about nine indexers in the directory. There are three levels of membership: Associate, Full and Retired membership.
